Patient Letter

Damage from not getting dental care accelerates!

May 17, 2021

Dear Patient,

As we start to recover from Covid, I want to assure you that our diligence towards your health and safety remains our first priority.

Our staff has been fully vaccinated.

Along with the improvements and precautions we have made within our office to protect our patients and team against the possible spread of Covid-19. Our staff has been fully vaccinated for months. (As we were just behind the hospitals to get access to vaccines.)

Precautionary procedures have been proven to work.

Dentistry continues to learn. The precautionary procedures we take as an industry have been proven to work. Infections from the Corona virus among Dentists, Hygienists, and Assistants have been much lower than within the general population.

Your dental health is especially important to us.

If you have been hesitant to return to the dental office, please allow me to invite you back for routine dental care in our safe, clean environment. Your dental health is especially important to us. It has been shown that the damage from not getting dental care, especially professional dental cleanings and check-ups has, unfortunately, led to much greater dental need than pre-pandemic.

Call today to set up an appointment.

Give our office a call today to set up a professional dental cleaning and check-up appointment. Or Email us with some dates and time that work for your you and we will be happy to get you on our schedule.

We look forward to seeing you soon,

Patrick Smith, DDS and Staff

The offices at ADCSF are one of the first and one of the few that use a ULV Fogger to sanitize the operatories after each patient!

July 9, 2020

Dear Patient,

With Covid, choosing where you have your dental care has become an especially important consideration. Dr. Smith at ADCSF runs a low volume, high quality private office with patient safety, quality care and value at the core of his many years of caring for patients in Juno Beach. The offices at ADCSF are one of the first and still one of the few that use a ULV fogger to sanitize the operatories after each patient, to ensure the lowest possibility of Covid transmission.

In March, when Covid was forcing closing dental offices in the Northeast, Dr Smith immediately research the problem. He contacted multiple sources including the FDA, ADA, and CDC to learn about Covid and proactively closed his office to at risk individuals days before the state recommended dental office closings. Dr. Smith has attended classes specifically on how to mitigate the virus and knowing dental care would be suspended nationally, began renovations to his offices to ensure ease of disinfection and patient safety in the new design.

Doctor and staff have been social distancing, and all staff and patients have their temperatures taken upon entry to the office, appointments are staggered to minimum traffic and cross-contamination.

The care that you receive is as important as safety. Dr. Smith will discuss with you before doing any procedure which choice is best for your present and future needs. Dentistry is now reasonably predictable, and knowledge is power. Having the best dentistry for you means less chair time over your life span.

You will live with the best looking, functioning, and healthiest mouth you can have. Doing what is best for you well, is the best value.

We accept all PPO insurance and will file with your insurance, which will be helpful for you at the time of your visit.

As a teen or as a senior, planning is essential, and that is what Dr Smith at ADCSF does and has done for over 30 years.

Sincerely,

Dr. Patrick C. Smith, Arlene, Linda, Melissa, Jane and Deana.

We are Fogging After Each Patient, Because
We are Committed to Your Safety and Health

 June 1, 2020

Dear Patient,

In this time of Covid uncertainty, Dr. Smith has been at the forefront of ensuring your heath and safety.

He has been in constant contact with multiple sources including the FDA, ADA, and CDC to learn about Covid and has established many new procedures to lessen the dangers of contracting the virus. Dr. Smith has attended classes specifically on how to mitigate the virus in the Dental office and has enacted those best practices for your safety.

Starting on March 17th, Dr. Smith remodeled the entire office with ease of disinfection and cleanliness in mind. We hope you like the new clean more modern look! All clinical and public sinks are touchless. Foaming hand cleaner or sanitizer are available throughout the office and used consistently. Masks are worn whenever 2 people are in the same space, and respirators are used during treatment, and all ADA, FDA and CDC-PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines are followed.

Plexiglass barriers, as well as antiviral UVC Lights (5) and upgraded filters in the HVAC systems have been installed. Freestanding airscrubbing mobile units HEPA with UV filters are also used. We have instituted an office disinfectant program fogging the entire office daily. All operatories are fogged with disinfectant after each patient whenever an aerosol has been generated.

All of these systems are suggested by the ADA and CDC (many are not required). All disinfection and sterilization procedures are done following the guidance of the Food and Drug administration and the EPA. We use Thymox based Disinfecting Spray named Bioesque Cleaning Solution, as recommended by FDA and approved by the EPA. This is in addition to the Hospital grade disinfection and sterilization procedures we have always used.

Doctor and staff have been socially distancing, have their temperatures taken upon entry to the office (just like you) and are required to stay away from work if there is any doubt about their health. We are attempting to enjoy the Zen of handwashing!

We hope you are comforted by this “Abundance of Caution”!

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to seeing you soon for your next appointment.

Sincerely,

Dr. Patrick C. Smith, Arlene, Linda, Melissa, Jane and Deana.

May 19. 2020

Dear Patient:

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Since mid-March, we have all had our lives disrupted, and (most) all of us look forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.

We have reopened as of Monday, May 11th with many cautions and proactive procedures in place.  If you are at risk for Covid and are unsure about risk and dental care please read the information below and call if you have questions.

We have totally remodeled the office during this time with the goals of comfort, cleanliness, and safety in mind. We have installed 5 UVC Lights to deactivate the DNA in bacteria and viruses in the AC Systems, installed all touchless plumbing in sinks and acrylic barriers to protect patients and staff.  We have reviewed and updated all our procedures to adjust to the new challenges we face.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. We have an over 30-year perfect tract record and our priority is to keep it that way going forward.  Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We are combining our best judgement and following the directives of these agencies to keep up to date with the latest data for your safe care.

You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. We will review those questions again when you are in the office. We will take your temperature in the reception area with an infrared forehead thermometer and update your health history, etc.
  • We ask you to wear a mask when entering the office.
  • Hand sanitizer will be in the reception area, please use it when you come in.
  • Please come alone if possible, or with just one companion if necessary.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer multi use periodicals, children’s toys and so forth, these items are difficult to disinfect. If you are interested in a pamphlet or magazine in the display case, please take it and keep it. Please don’t put it back.
  • All sinks and soap dispensers are touchless. Please wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment and, as always being timely is important.
  • We will allow greater time between patients for room disinfection etc., as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
  • Hygiene will no longer run on the hour. Hygiene checkups by the doctor will have to be more formal because of a more thorough PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) protocol is in place to ensure everyone’s safety.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (561) 694-9000.  The phone is often remote forwarded to Arlene. It does not ring in a familiar way. Leave a message if you don’t get through or call back.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Sincerely,

Dr. Patrick C. Smith, Arlene, Linda, Melissa and Deana.
